How to pluck a wig?

Girls always track for a natural effect that the wig looks seamless on them. A natural-looking wig does work on boosting girls' confidence and charm. And they always don't need to worry if someone will notice that they are wearing a wig. Plucking a wig is one of the easiest and quickest ways they can do to reach a more natural hairline.

What does plucking a wig mean?

One of the reasons why the lace front wig is so popular is the natural hairline it provides. Plucking a wig is the process to remove excess hair strands around the wig's hairline to reach a more realistic effect.

Pre-pluck wig means that the wig has been pre-pluck by the hair vendor, and you don't need to pluck it anymore. You can directly get a pre-plucked lace wig out of the box.

Why do you need to pluck a lace wig?

To make your wig look more realistic. If you observe your natural hairline you will notice that a real hairline is not a tidy straight line and the hair around is not the same length. However, a low-quality wig that hasn't been plucked, its hairline looks curt and may expose the fact that it is not your real hair. Plucking a wig is to give your wig a more natural hairline, a sense that the hair is actually growing from your scalp so that no one can tell if you are wearing a wig.

A lace wig;

T-pins;

A mannequin head;

A rattail comb;

A pair of tweezers;

Bleach powder (optional);

Shampoo and conditioner (optional);

Step 1: (Optional) Bleach knots

To achieve a more natural-looking wig, many girls may choose to bleach knots to make the lace base more undetectable. If you also decide to bleach knots, put the bleaching process first then dive into plucking.

Mix the bleach powder and developer, and apply the mixture onto the lace base with a brush. Let it sit for a while. And then rinse off the bleach and wash the wig.

Step 2: Prepare your wig

Put the lace wig on a mannequin, and use some T-pins to fix the wigs. Detangle your wig with a rattail comb. Pull all the hair back forward to expose the hairline.

Step 3: Pluck the wig

Grab the tweezers and pluck the hair strands straight back around the hairline evenly. Be noticed that avoid over-plucking on one area and plucking both front and inside the hairline. Avoid plucking too many hair strands once a time, just pluck bit by bit. Continue plucking the wig gently until it reaches the effect you desire.

Step 4: Recreate some baby hair

Section some hair strands in the front to work as baby hair. You can use a pair of scissors to cut or pluck with tweezers to make them achieve a proper length and density.

And the Plucking process is finished. It may be hard to handle especially if you haven't plucked a wig before. Never mind. Just remember that plucking bit by bit and avoid over-concentrated on one area during plucking. Following the above guideline, anyone can recreate a natural hairline on a wig.
